Lacquered, Oiled and/or Waxed Timber Furniture

TO MAINTAIN YOUR FURNITURE IN ITS ORIGINAL NEW CONDITION WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU KEEP TO THE FOLLOWING SIMPLE RULES:

Use heat resistant place mats for hot beverages and food. (Lacquers are not heat proof)
If you can hold it in your hand it's safe to put on the lacquered surface
Mop up any spills with a damp cloth as soon as practicable to prevent possible impairment of the finish
Dust with a damp soft cloth
If your timber surface has light scratches or gouges in it, we recommend the use of a Touch Up Pen and/or Maxwax to disguise the scratch (available HERE)
For major damage, please consult a furniture restoration specialist

WE RECOMMEND:

We recommend that you use ‘Maxwax' when the timber loses its “glow” and appears dull

Maxwax is a unique blend of food grade waxes taken up in a mild non-aromatic solvent. The formulation is specifically designed to penetrate porous surfaces (such as wood), whilst leaving a thin wax film on the surface. This not only nourishes the wood like an oil, but also leaves a wax lustre to the surface which can be buffed up to a healthy sheen.

Furniture in hot or sunny environments or in extremes of temperature or humidity will require more care.

We recommend that you use ‘Maxwax' * to enhance it's appearance
We recommend that you do not use furniture polishes that contain Silicone as contamination may occur resulting in difficult repair methods
By adhering to these recommendations the durability of the finish of your furniture will be enhanced
Fluctuating temperatures can stress timber furniture and cause splitting
If you have a humid environment check for mould from time to time and clean off to avoid the spoors from developing
